100 Million seconds

According to the Arduino that is counting the numbers of seconds since I retired1, so it's probably time to record a few thoughts:

  • As with most people I'm glad to have retired - the freedom from time pressure (in the main) is very liberating.
  • The freedom to decide what I'm doing with a day is precious to me too - even if sometimes I end up annoyed that I didn't exactly make dramatic achievements for the day!
  • I do need to set myself some longer term objectives though.

I have managed one thing though - I always intended to do a lot of exploring by rail, and I have (and am) managing to do that.

Footnotes

  1. To be fair it regularly checks in with an NTP time server since the clock on the Arduino isn't designed to be extremely accurate - mine drifts a few seconds in the hour
